Chemical Peels / Micro Peels

Before every facial peel, we perform dermaplaning to effectively resurface the skin. Dermaplaning is a technique that exfoliates the outer layer of skin and helps with cellular turnover. Following dermaplaning, we will apply a chemical solution to refine and brighten the skin.

 

Chemical peels / micro peels can achieve the following:

  • Smooth skin texture
  • Smaller pores
  • A more youthful glow
  • More even skin tone
  • Reduced acne and acne scarring
  • Can be done every six weeks

We have a variety of chemical peels available. The following peel options are listed beginning with the mildest through the most aggressive:

Lactic Acid Peel (for sensitive skin)

Glycolic Acid Peel (for aging skin)

Salicylic Acid Peel (for acne-prone and acne-scarred skin)

With a salicylic acid peel, we also do extractions to remove blackheads, milia, pimples, keratin cysts, and comedones.

Obagi® Blue Peel Radiance®

The Obagi® Blue Peel Radiance® contains lactic, salicylic, and glycolic acids all in one and treats aging, scarring, and dull skin without causing excessive peeling after treatment.

Laser Treatments

Photofacial

Photofacial treatment rejuvenates your appearance by applying a laser or light-based technology to the skin.

Photofacials stimulate collagen production and reduce signs of aging, such as:

  • Dark spots
  • Acne scars
  • Broken capillaries
  • Fine lines

Fractional Laser

The fractional laser creates tiny holes in the skin, and the healing process causes collagen to form in those areas along with new, healthy skin cells. Before fractional laser treatment can be performed, acne must be improved, and topical treatments, chemical peels, and photofacials can help with this. After treatment, the skin is usually red for 24 to 48 hours and feels as though it is sunburned.

Fractional laser treatment can improve the following:

  • Fine lines
  • Dark spots
  • Pitting
  • Pocking
  • Scars (resulting from acne, surgery, and burns)

Laser Hair Removal (LHR)

LHR works best for patients with thick, dark hair and light skin. However, we have been performing LHR for 16 years with great success in treating light to darker skin types. LHR does not work well on peach fuzz or vellus hair. A series of treatments spaced five to eight weeks apart is needed. The tip of the laser will initially feel cold against your skin, and the laser energy will deliver warmth followed by a sensation similar to the snap or flick of a rubber band. Our office will supply a numbing cream to make this treatment more comfortable for sensitive areas.

CLENZIDerm M.D. System (for acne-prone skin)

These Obagi® acne products can effectively improve the following:

This kit involves three products:

  1. An exfoliating wash that is used morning and evening
  2. A moisturizer with SPF 30 to be used in the morning
  3. A Retin-A 0.5% product to be used in the evening

During your free consultation, if we determine that the Obagi® Nu-Derm System is right for you, you will be started on an eight-week skincare program. At the end of those eight weeks, you will return to the office for a free chemical peel, and we will re-evaluate your skin and recommend products to maintain your healthy, youthful skin.
