Breast LIFT (MASTOPEXY)

A breast lift (mastopexy) is done to treat saggy breasts. Often after nursing babies and weight loss women can develop sagging breasts. The degree of sagginess may have to do with the length of time a women nurses her baby, her age, and her genetics. Contrary to common belief by many patients, the nipple is not removed but remains attached to the breast at all times during the procedure. Another important fact is that the muscle is left attached to the breast when an implant is placed at the same time to preserve healthy circulation to the nipple. It is also crucial to place any implant under the muscle so that the breast has much better circulation for a lift that is done at the same time or perhaps anticipating breast surgery in the distant future. They often have their lifts with augmentation or as part of a “mommy make-over”.
